A stunning modern villa with a pool, garden and magnificent sea views from its hillside setting
A stunning, modern villa with a pool, garden and magnificent sea views from its hillside setting. Ideal for families, couples and friends. The majestic, green mountains of the Madonie National Park form a magnificent backdrop to Sicily’s northern coast’s sandy beaches. It makes a heavenly setting for this fabulous holiday villa.
From the town of Cefalù, head along the coast road and into the hills towards the village of nearby Sant’Ambrogio. The country road winds up through pine and olive trees to the sleek wooden gates of Villa Rita. They open directly into a verdant, private garden which surrounds the villa and its sparkling pool. Its Italian owners created Villa Rita as a stylish and practical holiday home for their family and friends to enjoy. Contemporary in style and well-furnished for summer living, it feels both welcoming and spacious.
Open the front door into a light-filled, open plan kitchen and dining area. It forms a wonderful central hub for gathering together. In the warm summer months, slide open the glass doors and dine outside on an expansive terrace complete with dining table and cushioned sitting area. It is a fantastic place for admiring panoramic views across the sea, stretching from the Aeolian islands on the horizon to the lighthouse of Cefalu. Head down the stairs to three spacious bedrooms, three bathrooms and a sitting area. Open glass doors from here and step outside to the inviting pool and green garden lawn. When it’s hot out, have a refreshing swim then soak up the sun on a lounger. A shaded sitting area nearby is ideal for relaxing with a good book or cooling drink. Cook up a storm in the kitchen inside or fire up the barbecue for an alfresco feast outside, the choice is yours.
Your nearest village for necessary shopping, a pizzeria and restaurant is Sant’Ambrogio, a convenient 5-minute drive away. Larger shops and restaurants can be found in Cefalu, and a 15- minute drive away. Head there in the early evening for a stroll and drink. Pizzerias, fish restaurants, bars and boutiques line the cobbled streets of Cefalu’s historic centre and at its heart lies the impressive Arab-Norman Duomo, now a UNESCO World Heritage site. Choose one of the many beaches lining the coast for a sea swim and beach fun or explore the mountains of the Madonie National Park, home to Sant’ Anastasia’s winery, walking trails and mountain villages. For a taste of vibrant city life, Palermo is just an hour away by car or train for Sicilian street food, lively markets and cultural highlights.
